furniture
Elisa approaches furniture as an extension of architecture, where material, proportion, light, and form are considered as one.
Her work explores the relationship between traditional materials and contemporary methods of making. A sixteen-person dining table combines a reclaimed oak top with a 3D-printed base, bringing together the warmth of natural wood with the precision of digital fabrication.
A sixty-inch round coffee table uses a perforated reclaimed oak surface, allowing light to pass through and creating a shifting relationship between light and shadow. Set on a simple square base, the piece brings together organic material and geometric form.
For the entry to a wine cave, Elisa designed a fourteen-foot bench from a fallen madrone tree found on the property. The form follows the natural character of the wood, with a gently curved, carved structure, a concave seat, and softened edges. Finished with a wax and oil treatment, the bench retains the presence of the original tree while becoming a quiet architectural element within the space.
Across her furniture work, Elisa places an emphasis on considered materials, responsible making, and longevity. Reclaimed wood, natural finishes, and thoughtful fabrication are integral to an approach that seeks to create objects with both purpose and permanence.
textiles
Studio Elisa Pitashny collaborates with Arudeko to create a collection of textile objects in 100% wool, naturally dyed, hand-spun, and woven on traditional pedal looms in Oaxaca, Mexico.
At the center of the collection is the circle, chosen as a simple geometric form that speaks to unity, continuity, and the enduring nature of craft. Its repetition pays homage to the ancient weaving traditions preserved by generations of master weavers, while placing them within a contemporary context.
The work brings together the permanence of traditional craft with the evolving language of contemporary design. Natural materials, handwoven texture, and simple geometry come together to create objects that feel both rooted and sophisticated.

philosophy
Elisa designs with a quiet intuition. For her, interior design is not simply about aesthetics, but about creating a sense of calm, clarity, and belonging.
Each space is considered as a whole, with every element serving a purpose. Material, light, proportion, and detail are carefully balanced to create interiors that feel effortless, harmonious, and at ease.
Her approach is rooted in a childhood experience of returning to her grandmother’s home after her passing, where the accumulation of objects and visual disorder left a lasting impression. From this came a deep appreciation for the restorative power of simplicity.
Elisa’s work seeks to remove what is unnecessary, allowing space, light, and material to speak for themselves. The result is an architecture of calm quiet spaces that feel considered, timeless, and deeply livable.

Studio Elisa Pitashny selects each element with intention, allowing material, light, and proportion to define the space. An understated palette of earthy tones provides a quiet foundation, while natural wood, metal, stone, ceramics, and textiles introduce warmth and tactility.

Raised in Mexico City, Elisa grew up surrounded by a rich culture of art, architecture, and material expression. This early exposure shaped her understanding of how spaces can influence the way we live, feel, and connect.
Now based in California, she draws from both cultures to inform an open and intuitive approach to design. Her work is guided by a belief in simplicity, balance, and the quiet relationship between the built environment and well-being.
bio
Born in Buenos Aires and raised in Mexico City, Elisa is now based in San Francisco. Her work reflects an experience of different places, cultures, and ways of living.
She holds a BFA in Fiber Arts, with a focus on Fashion and Interior Design, from Universidad Iberoamericana, and has studied at Parsons School of Design in New York and Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London.
Her professional experience includes work with Mia Decora, Emporio di Moda, Roche Bobois, and Goyard. These varied influences inform an approach grounded in material, proportion, and the experience of space.
Today, Elisa works between cultures and disciplines, drawing from the places she has lived, the people around her, and the everyday experience of living well.
